Alyce Mahon is Reader in Modern and Contemporary Art History, a Fellow of Trinity College, Deputy-Head of the Department of History of Art, and the Director of Graduate Studies in History of Art. She has curated exhibitions in the UK, Spain and the USA, including Leonor Fini: Theatre of Desire 1930-1970 (Museum of Sex, New York, 2018-2019) and Dorothea Tanning (Reina Sofia Museum, Madrid and Tate Modern, London, 2018-2019). Her publications include numerous essays on the art and politics of the international avant-garde, as well as its legacies today, and her books include Surrealism and the Politics of Eros, 1938-1968 (Thames & Hudson, 2005), Eroticism & Art (Oxford University Press, 2005 and 2007), and The Marquis de Sade and the Avant-Garde (forthcoming, Princeton University Press, 2020). She is currently completing a book on the American Surrealist Dorothea Tanning (1910-2012), under contract with Yale University Press.
