Funding Opportunities: CVC Visiting research Felowships

We are launching an exciting new funding stream to bring visiting scholars to Cambridge, to enrich and renew visual culture studies across the University.

The scheme is open to all researchers external to the University of Cambridge whose concern focuses on the visual. Applications are especially encouraged from:

  • perspectives, fields, and geographies traditionally underrepresented in Cambridge
  • researchers seeking to engage with an area of the University’s collections

Applications are now open for Visiting Research Fellows for Easter (summer) term 2022, Michaelmas (autumn) term 2022, and Lent (spring) term 2023.

Download full details of the scheme and how to apply.

Applicants should apply with the support of a sponsoring Cambridge academic. Enquiries should be addressed to the CVC Co-Directors.

The deadline is 12pm (12 noon) on Thursday 10 March. Please note the revised deadline. Applications with relevant attachments should be emailed to

In addition to the Visiting Research Fellowship scheme, CVC welcomes enquiries from scholars both internal and external to the University of Cambridge related to potential collaborations, or other fellowship programmes such as British Academy and Leverhulme Trust Fellowships. If you’re interested in working with us, please contact one of the Co-Directors.
